GlobalSource is a boutique private intelligence firm with over two decades of experience around the world. We provide personalized solutions to complex, multi-jurisdictional problems by developing actionable intelligence through our well-placed network of sources. GlobalSource specializes in litigation support/strategic advisory, asset tracing and recovery, political intelligence, internal investigations, due diligence, and insurance fraud. We are experts in creatively addressing the most challenging issues and combining intelligence gathering with advisory services to address the specific needs of our clients.

Management

BILL is the owner and CEO of GlobalSource. Before co-founding the company in 2003, he was director of investigations for Europe, Middle East and Africa for a multinational security services company. He was director of operations of Investigative Group International (IGI), a prominent private investigation firm in Washington, D.C. Bill spent a dozen years as an investigative reporter and writer in the Middle East, and his work has appeared in The New York Times and The Times of London, as well as publications by Harvard University Press and Syracuse University Press. Bill has a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.A. from the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University.

JEN is the Director of International Operations, based in Cape Town, South Africa. She is responsible for offices and staff at all GlobalSource locations. She has oversight of active cases and proposals, and quality control of work products for clients. Jen has an M.A. in International Politics from American University School of International Service, focused on global security, Russia and Eastern Europe. Jen also has Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Oregon in political science, international studies, Russian, and French. Prior to joining GlobalSource, she worked in the political section of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Albania.

ABIGAIL is the Operations Manager, based in Nicosia, Cyprus. She is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Cyprus office, as well as coordinating with staff members in other locations. Abigail has an M.A. In Conflict Resolution from the University of Coventry, U.K., and a Bachelor in International Development and Politics from the University of Leeds, U.K. Before joining GlobalSource, Abigail worked for the U.N. on refugee issues, the political section of the British Embassy in Beirut, and several Non-Governmental Organisations.

Advisory Board

ANN E. Healy, FLMI/M, FALU, FLHC, HIA ACS, AIAA, has more than 25 years of claims experience in the Life and Health Insurance Industry. Her expertise extends to underwriting, contract interpretation, insurance law and compliance, and market conduct. Ann has managed claims operations in Canada and the USA. For nine years, she specialized in domestic and foreign insurance fraud, working alongside her husband and legendary investigator, the late Joe Healy. Ann has been active with the Eastern Claims Conference (ECC) for several years as a volunteer. She also was a member of the Life Insurance Institute of Canada (LIIC) Executive Claims Committee before moving to the USA.

ARIC Mutchnick has more than ten years experience in the security industry and most recently was a senior global projects manager with a leading international security provider. He specializes in threat and vulnerability assessments for commercial and government enterprises. Aric has worked as an instructor in counter-terror tactics, emergency driving, surveillance detection and non-lethal weapons. He has been a counter-terror instructor with leading world organizations and ran risk assessment and surveillance detection teams for Fortune 500 firms. He has advised and trained covert foreign national security units guarding U.S. Embassies and consulates in 28 countries. After Hurricane Katrina, Aric spent months in New Orleans and Houston working with hotels, banks and key infrastructure providers to upgrade security procedures and develop disaster recovery plans. Aric has a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Benson Chan, CAMS, based in Hong Kong, possesses over 30 years of experience in investment banking and asset management while covering Asia, United Kingdom and North America. Mr. Chan has managed product and industry groups for bulge-bracket, investment banks in Hong Kong and the United States focusing on real estate, acquisition financing, high-yield financing and distressed debt acquisition. Mr. Chan earned a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Finance from the University of Southern California and a Certificate of Cyber Security from the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and Estate Agents Authority (EAA).

GEORGE Iacovou is the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus. With three terms he was the country’s longest-serving foreign minister. He personally signed the 2003 Treaty of Accession of Cyprus to the EU. He was Cyprus High Commissioner to the UK before returning to Cyprus to be appointed presidential commissioner (prime minister) under President Dimitris Christofias, 2008-2013. George was the chief negotiator with Turkey and the breakaway northern Cyprus. His political career included initiatives for the rehabilitation of Greek Cypriot refugees following the 1974 Turkish invasion, and refugees of Greek origin living in the former Soviet Union. He is the former head of the Africa Department of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and was ambassador of Cyprus in Germany. Before starting his political career, George was a senior consultant at Price Waterhouse in London and a senior finance officer on the board of British Rail.

DANIEL Hoffman is a former Senior Executive Clandestine Service Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency. His combined 30 years of US government service included senior positions in the CIA, US military, US State Department and the Commerce Department. His assignments were in the former Soviet Union, Europe, and war zones in the Middle East and South Asia. Daniel developed expertise on international issues, including the Middle East, South Asia, Russia and counter-terrorism. Now in the private sector, Daniel is in demand as a highly regarded speaker for his policy experience and his work with foreign officials in regions where he served.
COSTAS served in senior posts in the military and intelligence communities of Cyprus and Greece. In 1955, he cut his university studies short to return to fight in Cyprus’ War of Independence. He later returned to Greece to finish his studies, eventually attending Military College in Greece. After graduation, he took on gradually more senior posts in the Greek and Cypriot armies, retiring as a Major General in 1991 following a much-decorated career. Later that same year, Gen. Achillides was appointed head of the Cyprus Central Intelligence Service, a post he held for three years. Since that time, he has held several advisory roles with the Cyprus government.

OSMAN comes from five generations of military heritage in Pakistan. He served more than 18 years on diverse assignments and in 2004 joined his family’s business, Security 2000 (Pvt) Ltd, as Executive Director. Osman’s father, the late Brig (R) Rashid Ali Malik, founded the business after a distinguished military career and also served many years on the Advisory Board of GlobalSource LLC. Osman, the second-in-command, had graduated from the same cadet college as his father. He began to build on the security experience of the Brigadier and positioned the company to meet the needs of the dynamic modern private security world. After 14 years at the helm of this well-established brand, Major Osman is now a leading expert in the field. He is an advisor to multinational businesses and sits on security panels. An avid sportsman, Osman is dedicated to forging ahead with the mission of his internationally renowned father.

MICHAEL Ricks, based in London, Michael specializes in financial crime, corruption, and due diligence, having worked on product counterfeiting and money-laundering by organized crime and terrorist groups, as well as numerous child kidnapping cases out of the UK for proceedings in the English and Scottish High Courts under the Hague Convention and Child Abduction Acts. Before setting up his own commercial international investigations and due diligence consultancy, which GlobalSource has acquired, Michael began his career as a journalist specializing in crime and financial reporting, investigating police corruption and organized crime. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the private intelligence field. As such, he has managed and supported major international investigations, not only in the UK but also worldwide. He has been an intricate part of the annual not-for-profit Cambridge Symposium on International Economic and Crime for over thirty years and is the Symposium’s Director of Communications. The Symposium, organised by leading educational and research institutions is a unique gathering of legal, judiciary, and compliance bodies, as well as numerous governmental agencies and professionals from all around the world. Moreover, Michael shares his expertise on commercial investigations and investigative reporting as a speaker and is an ad-hoc lecturer to LLM students at a London university on the law as it affects investigative reporting and private investigations.
OPERATING from London, Murad is an expert on Central Asia and has previously assisted GlobalSource on projects in research and investigation. He is a London School of Economics graduate, holds an MSc Econ in International Relations (with Distinction) from Cardiff University and is preparing his PhD thesis at the School of Politics and International Relations, Cardiff University. Murad’s research is on energy politics and IR theory, focusing on the Caspian region and Central Asia. Murad is an elected Independent member of Westminster City Council, London. He speaks Russian and some Turkish.

NERITAN Sejamini has three decades of experience as a policy expert and strategic consultant, based in Washington DC (USA) and Tirana (Albania). During the 1990s, he coordinated the EU’s assistance to Albania, while in 2005-2007 he served as advisor for domestic policy to the Albanian Prime Minister. He since advises public and private organizations on policymaking, strategic planning and decision-making related to the Western Balkans.

He is a founder and director of the New Policy Group, a strategic research center in Tirana where he specializes in opinion and market research and analysis. Neritan is also an experienced trainer on strategic communication, and a public commentator on economic and political developments in Albania.

Neritan has a bachelor’s in physics from the University of Tirana, a master’s degree in policy analysis from the University of Chicago and has completed non-degree graduate studies in applied statistics at the George Washington University in Washington DC.

RICHARD Holm is a senior intelligence executive who excels in political, economic and operational analysis. He was an operations officer and station chief with the CIA Directorate of Operations for thirty-four years, seventeen of them overseas. He is a China specialist with a working knowledge of Mandarin, Thai and Spanish and has fluent French. He received the Intelligence Medal of Merit among other awards. Richard ran two key European stationsand also chief of a major Asian station, and was a liaison to Congress. In the 1980s he was head of a Counter Terrorism Group where he restructured and expanded staff and programs in response to growing terrorist threats, and he coordinated security planning for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

TERRENCE M. Burke is a decorated former CIA operations officer, later acting head of the DEA. He now leads T.M. Burke International LLC, founded in 2001 after ten years with IGI International investigations. In government service, Terry worked in Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Afghanistan, Asia, Latin America, and Washington D.C. He specializes in complex litigation support, mergers & acquisitions, and due diligence. Terry testified before Congress and appeared on national and international TV. Up to 2003, he was an active field member of the Alpine Rescue Team, taking part in hundreds of rescues and searches in the Colorado mountains.

 

THEODOROS Dravillas is a former chief of the National Intelligence Service of Greece. Based in Athens, he is a law practitioner specializing in corporate law, due diligence, and legal support for complex public tenders. Theodoros is professionally active in Europe and the East Mediterranean region. He began his career as an engineer, with a Masters degree in Telecoms and an MBA from the Imperial College in London, UK. When appointed to the post he served from 2012-2015, Theodoros was the youngest intelligence chief in Europe. Theodoros remains active in the fields of security and safety. He is Chairman of KEMEA, a security institute in the EU, running multi-million-euro projects in cybersecurity, border control systems, and anti-terrorist technologies.
