Michael Ricks Joins GlobalSource, UK

GlobalSource is delighted to welcome Michael Ricks, experienced investigator, researcher and member of the UK’s Institute of Professional Investigators, to the team in the United Kingdom. Based in London, Michael specializes in financial crime, corruption, and due diligence, having worked on product counterfeiting and money-laundering by organized crime and terrorist groups, as well as numerous child kidnapping cases out of the UK for proceedings in the English and Scottish High Courts under the Hague Convention and Child Abduction Acts. Before setting up his own commercial international investigations and due diligence consultancy, which GlobalSource has acquired, Michael began his career as a journalist specializing in crime and financial reporting, investigating police corruption and organized crime. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the private intelligence field. As such, he has managed and supported major international investigations, not only in the UK but also worldwide. He has been an intricate part of the annual not-for-profit Cambridge Symposium on International Economic and Crime for over thirty years and is the Symposium’s Director of Communications. The Symposium, organised by leading educational and research institutions is a unique gathering of legal, judiciary, and compliance bodies, as well as numerous governmental agencies and professionals from all around the world. Moreover, Michael shares his expertise on commercial investigations and investigative reporting as a speaker and is an ad-hoc lecturer to LLM students at a London university on the law as it affects investigative reporting and private investigations.
